High Calcium Level : Hypercalcemia
Definition of hypercalcemia
Hypercalcemia is defined as too much calcium in the blood. It is the most common life-threatening complication of cancer in adults. Hypercalcemia affects 10 to 20 percent of adults with cancer, but rarely occurs in children. When it occurs in people with cancer, it may be called malignant hypercalcemia (MCH).
The body uses calcium in different ways. Calcium makes bones and teeth. It also helps muscles contract and blood clot. Calcium also helps the heart and nervous system function normally. For more information just contact the center Afrique Santé Bio.
Associated researches
Hypercalcemia occurs when the bones release too much calcium or when the kidneys cannot remove enough calcium. Some cancers can cause hypercalcemia, especially the following advanced cancers
multiple myeloma
breast cancer
parathyroid cancer;
Lung cancer;
kidney cancer;
non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma;
leukemia;
bone metastases (cancer that has spread to the bones from other parts of the body)
Some types of immunotherapy and hormone therapy used to treat certain cancers can also cause hypercalcemia. Drugs used to treat other health problems can also cause hypercalcemia.
Symptoms of High calcium levels
The symptoms of hypercalcemia can vary and worsen as it progresses.
The symptoms of hypercalcemia include
Nausea;
vomiting
loss of appetite
constipation
fatigue;
muscle weakness;
increased thirst;
more frequent urination;
dark yellow urine;
little or no sweating
Abnormal heartbeat;
confusion and difficulty thinking clearly
difficulty concentrating;
lethargy;
Kidney stones;
bone pain or fractures;
coma.
Report your symptoms to your health care team as soon as possible.
Diagnosis
Your health care team will try to find the cause of the hypercalcemia. This will include a physical exam, assessment of your symptoms and a neurological exam.
During the neurological examination, your health care team will ask you questions and perform tests to check the function of your brain, spinal cord and nerves. Your mental status and coordination, including the effectiveness of your muscles, senses and reflexes, will also be checked.
Your care team will also order:
biochemical blood tests;
Urinalysis;
Kidney function tests.
Kidney function tests and urinalysis detect certain substances in the blood and urine and determine how well the kidneys are working.

Hypercalcemia Naturel Treatment
The Treatment for hypercalcemia should be aimed both at lowering the serum calcium treating the underlying disease. We have an effective treatment that reduce high calcium , increasing urinary calcium excretion, et decreasing intestinal calcium absorption. Known causes and consequences, we will take care of you with herbal tea. It is an excellent remedy that cures in a short time the high level of calcium in the blood.
SERUM CALCIUM
Calcium in serum is bound to proteins, principally albumin. As a result, total serum calcium concentrations in patients with low or high serum albumin levels may not accurately reflect the physiologically important concentration.
Some necessary approches
- Patients with a serum calcium of 12 to 14 mg/dL may not require immediate treatment, because that degree of hypercalcemia may be well tolerated chronically. However, an acute rise to these concentrations may cause marked changes in sensorium.
- Patients with a serum calcium concentration >14 mg/dL (3.5 mmol/L) require treatment, regardless of symptoms.
